Rachel has been working as an artist in residence through the Watershed+ program for the past year; she has had the privilege of working closely with the City's Water Resources', Water Services', and the Parks' staff and has developed something truly special. Among the works in progress is the pen and ink drawing diptych Bow Flow(2013), that maps sections of Calgary's Bow River as it travels through a treatment plant, and irrigation canal, and various bridges. By depicting only the water above ground and omitting surrounding architecture, Rachel reveals how the river adapts to creates a system around city infrastructure.
